The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the CTET February 2026 exam date. The 21st edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) will be held on 8 February 2026. The official notification, information bulletin, and application form are being released at ctet.nic.in. Important Dates

  • CTET Notification Release: October 2025
  • Application Start: October/November 2025
  • Exam Date: 8 February 2026
  • Admit Card Download: January 2026
  • Result: March 2026

Eligibility Criteria

For Paper I (Classes 1 to 5)

  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education
  • Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education
  • Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)
  • Bachelor’s degree with Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)

For Paper II (Classes 6 to 8)

  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)
  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed
  • Graduation with at least 45% marks as per NCTE norms and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed
  • Post Graduation with at least 55% marks and 3-year integrated B.Ed-M.Ed (with bridge course, if required)

Exam Pattern

Paper I

  • Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
  • Total Questions: 150
  • Total Marks: 150
  • No negative marking
  • Sections: Child Development & Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Mathematics, Environmental Studies
  • Duration: 2.5 hours

Paper II

  • Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
  • Total Questions: 150
  • Total Marks: 150
  • No negative marking
  • Sections: Child Development & Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Mathematics & Science or Social Studies/Social Science
  • Duration: 2.5 hours

How to Apply Online

  1. Visit the official website: ctet.nic.in
  2. Click on “Apply for CTET 2026”
  3. Register with your details and generate login credentials
  4. Complete the application form and upload scanned documents
  5. Pay the application fee online (debit/credit card, net banking, UPI) or offline
  6. Submit the form and download the confirmation page for future reference
